Log home maintenance

Regular maintenance of your log house reduces the damage from UV, water and insects

Our Partnership with Sashco’s Start Right® Program

“How long does the stain last?  What is recommended for finishing the interior?  Which stain is right for me?  Are there qualified contractors who can apply the stain for me?  How do I take care of my home over the long-term?”

These common questions are exactly why we include Sashco’s Start Right® program with every log home we sell.  In the Start Right® program, we connect you with your own finishing project manager from Sashco, the manufacturer of a complete line of high-performance stains, sealants, preservatives, and cleaners made specifically for log homes.  They answer the questions you have and the ones you didn’t even know to ask.  They combine the right products with expert advice to make sure that you Start Right®.  Your Start Right® project manager will:

  • Educate you on the log home staining and finishing process
  • Walk through stain and color choices with you
  • Ship you an awesome Start Right® sample kit with the colors you request, along with educational materials
  • Provide qualified contractor references at your request
  • Do the materials takeoff for your project (product quantities for interior and exterior)
  • Work with your contractor on application guidelines, product quantities, and timing
  • Celebrate with you when it’s all said and done
  • Provide annual maintenance reminders so that your home stays looking great

At EcoHouseMart, we want you to have a great experience with your log home, from the moment you move in, to 20 years down the road. The Start Right® Program stays with you year after to year to ensure just that: a log home that is protected and looks great.
