Because there are so many options and variables in any home design, there are a series of questions we will need to cover with you prior to providing you with a detailed quote to build. Until then, we can make some assumptions and provide you with an estimated cost for ECOHOUSEMART components and options pricing. The basic ECOHOUSEMART components that we provide include:
Due to the nature of building custom homes, the final “turn-key” cost of a home can vary greatly. For the ECOHOUSEMART cabin line (750sf to 1,000sf) and larger, the cost for the basic ECOHOUSEMART components start at approximately $60,000.00 with expected building costs approaching $300,000. From there, the price increases, depending on options selected, the size of house, and the delivery location.
In addition to the basic components , we can also supply a series of ECOHOUSEMART options. These can include windows, interior and exterior doors, ceiling paneling, framed wall paneling, flooring, trim, interior and exterior railings, etc.
For planning purposes we can suggest using the “turnkey” building cost we have seen from ECOHOUSEMART Home & Cabin building projects throughout much of the United States. Our definition of turnkey cost is one that we feel is what should really matter to the future homeowner- what it will cost for the home to be completed in its entirety.
It is important to understand that this turnkey cost can be sizably affected by several factors including site location, site conditions, level of finishes you choose for both interior and exterior, local building regulations, and utility connections cost. Utilities will include sewer/septic, water/well, electric/gas, solar and others.
On average in th USA, we are seeing turnkey building costs falling in the $200 to $300 per square foot of home for everything but the land itself; that said, we have seen some projects over $400 per square foot.. If you are acting as your own general contractor, this building cost will likely be 15-25% lower.
